What Exactly Do You Have In Mind, Big Guy?

Here's an eye-popping quote from a member of the United States Senate, a Republican member no less, talking about opposition to the amnesty bill that he and others of his ilk continue to press despite overwhelming opposition from the American people. (From "Senate Leaders Agree to Revive Immigration Bill," the Washington Post)
Comments by Republican senators on Thursday suggested that they were feeling the heat from conservative critics of the bill, who object to provisions offering legal status. The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: “Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem.” [my emphasis]
What did you have in mind, tough guy? Are you going to have Rush Limbaugh executed? Are you going to have all those who speak out in opposition to the egregious anti-American plan to give 12 million illegals amnesty that you guys dreamt up behind closed doors imprisoned? Or just silenced? Banished?

We need to deal with a problem, all right. We need to bounce RINOs like Trent Lott, who lost the Senate majority to the Democrats because of their traitorous and profligate ways, from their gilded and insular digs in Washington and send them to the nether regions from whence they came.

Uh Oh. Don't Let Paula See This.

I've lost track of the number (much less the names) of cats we have around the homestead. They seem to know that Paula is there to provide food and sustenance when their former owners abandon them along the rural road we live on and they make the journey to our back door. Either that or they talk to one another about how good the vittles are up at the Fuhrman house and they know where to go.

For her generosity, she is truly guaranteed a place in heaven.

And the former owners can burn in hell.

Still, Paula's love for the little creatures may bring a downside:
Two injured by rabid cat in Chesterfield
By Juan Lazima, Richmond Times-Dispatch Staff Writer

Two people were bitten or scratched by a cat that later tested positive for rabies in Bellwood Manor neighborhood in Chesterfield County.

A police officer captured the cat and turned it over to the county animal control officials. The animal tested positive for rabies, police said.

Officials are recommending residents keep their pets indoors and make sure pets have their rabies vaccinations current. (link)
Vaccinations for all her cats. Thank God we have all the money in the world.

The Truth Will Out

To those who blame Israel for all the problems in the Middle East, a reality check. From John Podhoretz:
The Palestinians spent decades professing their detestation of Israeli occupation and demanding self-rule . . . so Israel gave them their heart's desire.

Gaza is Judenrein - emptied of all Jews, just as Hitler dreamed Germany would be. No Jews live in Gaza. No Jews patrol Gaza. It's Jew-Free-by-the-Sea, with a charming Mediterranean coast worth billions of dollars in tourism and trade.

So what's the problem?

The problem is that the Jews weren't the problem.

The problem is that the Palestinians are the problem: They are drenched in an ideology of blood and murder and suicide.

They're Baaaack

Like that pimple on your butt that just refuses to go away:
Senate Leaders Agree to Revive Immigration Bill
By Robert Pear and Jeff Zeleny, The New York Times

Washington, June 14 — Senate Democratic and Republican leaders announced on Thursday that they had agreed on a way to revive a comprehensive immigration bill that was pulled off the Senate floor seven days ago.

The majority leader, Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada, and the minority leader, Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky, said they expected the bill to return to the floor before the Fourth of July recess. (link)
It's as if these fossils live on a different planet.

And my personal hero in Congress, Mitch McConnell, ought to be particularly ashamed of himself.

Amnesty. 12 million lawbreakers. Why don't we just get it over with. Open the prisons and let 'em all run wild in our streets.

For the love of God.

This Ain't Chump Change

Wow, those lessons on how to earn big returns in cattle futures investing sure paid off. The Clintons, since leaving Arkansas, have become filthy rich:
To Avoid Any Conflict, Clintons Liquidate Holdings
By Patrick Healy, The New York Times

Washington, June 14 — Concerned that their personal finances might become a political liability once again, Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton in April sold the millions of dollars of stocks held by their blind trust after learning that those investments included oil and pharmaceutical companies, military contractors and Wal-Mart, their aides said

The Clintons liquidated the trust — valued at $5 million to $25 million — and are leaving the proceeds for now in cash in an effort to eliminate any chance of ethical problems or political embarrassment from their holdings ... (link)
Blind trust or no. It took a lot of hefty investment to build this fund.

But I'm sure it's all aboveboard ...

These People Crack Me Up

A New York Times headline:

White House Seems Ready to Let Hamas Seize Gaza

As opposed to what?

Leave It To The Post

The geniuses who write for the Washington Post prove once again that they know no shame:
Takeover by Hamas Illustrates Failure of Bush's Mideast Vision
By Glenn Kessler, Washington Post Staff Writer

Five years ago this month, President Bush stood in the Rose Garden and laid out a vision for the Middle East that ...

The takeover this week of the Gaza Strip by the Hamas militant group dedicated to the elimination of Israel demonstrates how much that vision has failed to materialize, in part because of actions taken by the administration.
It's all Bush's fault that one terrorist gang in Palestine has slaughtered another terrorist gang in Palestine.

Idiots. They're simply idiots.
