I Wish We Could Honor Their Request

Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries to all Virginia citizens:

Don't feed the deer.

Paula (yesterday) to local deer population:

"You ate my geraniums, you miserable sunsabi****! Where's the gun?"

Jerry - what are you seeing out your way in terms of bucks and gobblers?

Not a lot of turkeys right now. There's a pack of coyotes in the area that are preying on the young ones I think. I heard them yipping again before dawn this morning not far from the house.

We have more deer this year than ever before. Mostly does and fawns, of course. There is a handful of bucks in the area, a few of which are sporting nice racks. I usually see one each year that takes my breath away but haven't seen him yet (it's never the same one; they live only till November/December and then they're gone). So I keep looking.
