Is Carole Pratt responsible for House Democratic losses?

Word on the street is that many members and soon to be former members of the House Democratic Caucus are mad at recently defeated 6th District challenger Carole Pratt and her son, Matt Mansell, who happens to be the campaign director of the House Democratic Caucus.  Apparently they are upset that Matt pumped $90k into his mother's race, a race in which she got crushed by 30% when there were four Democratic incumbents who lost by 317 votes or less. Obviously they feel that if the money had been spent on the incumbents, the losses may have not been as bad.

Below are the numbers for those losing incumbents.

The question to ask: Who is more responsible for the massive Democratic losses: Creigh Deeds or Carole Pratt?

House 21
R- Ron Villanueva- 7,670 - 49.94%
D- Bobby Mathieson- 7654- 49.84%

House 23
R- Scott Garrett- 10,810- 50.47%
D- Shannon Valentine- 10,600- 49.49%

House 34
R- Barbara Comstock- 11,437- 50.64%
D- Margie Vanderhye- 11,120- 49.24%

House 51
R- Richard Anderson- 7,864- 50.56%
D- Paul Nichols- 7664- 49.27%

More to follow.

Medal of Honor ...

... Medal of Freedom.

What's the difference?

How's that jump shot, Mr. President?

Perriello a Short-Timer?

This would suggest so, if Virginia's 5th District congressman doesn't change his liberal ways:
Hello, Tipping Point
By Kim Strassel, Wall Street Journal

On Jan. 20, Barack Obama began a race against time. The White House knew its liberal agenda would prove unpopular in many parts of the country represented by Democrats. So long as the president looked strong, those Blue Dogs and freshmen and swing-state senators would stick. Show them any sign of weakness, however, and rattled Dems would begin to care more about their own re-elections than they did their president.

Tuesday, the White House hit that tipping point.

To understand why, join some of those "nervous Democrats" who at this very moment are digging into, say, Virginia's returns. Last year, Dems captured three GOP House seats in the Old Dominion as the state voted for its first Democratic president since 1964. This week, those very same districts provided Democrats their first proof that the Obama agenda is a liability.

There's freshman Rep. Tom Perriello, who, buoyed by the big Obama turnout, won Virginia's fifth congressional district by a scant 727 votes. Today, Mr. Perriello's farming and manufacturing area sports the state's highest unemployment rate. The Democrat suffered a furious backlash over his vote for a cap-and-trade bill that will further crush local manufacturing and was then walloped at a series of health-care town halls.

Voters took their frustration to the polls on Tuesday. Republican Bob McDonnell, who campaigned for governor on jobs and against ObamaCare and climate legislation, took 61.4% of the district's vote. At the local level, Democrats challenged two incumbent GOP Virginia delegates; the Republicans each won by more than 30 points. The GOP last month succeeded in recruiting veteran state Sen. Robert Hurt, a district native, to challenge Mr. Perriello. He's already campaigning on jobs. [link]
Like James Webb, Tom Perriello is a one-hit wonder.  Webb campaigned against George Bush and Perriello ... well, he wasn't Virgil Goode.  Both won their elections.  Both now have no good reason to be where they are.  Both now go along to get along.

For more information on Senator Robert Hurt, go here.

Lost In The Wilderness

This would be pathetic if it weren't potentially so destructive to our way of life:

Before you ask, neither Virginia senator sits on the committee that voted in favor of this bit of stupidity.

Both Warner and Webb, geniuses in their own right, will vote in favor as soon as it reaches the senate floor.

As instructed.

You Call This Recovery?

Obama says the economy has turned around.

He also told us that, if he was given his $787 billion stimulus, that he would keep unemployment from hitting 8%.

To coin a phrase:

You lied!

And ...

You lied!
Jobless rate tops 10 pct. for first time since '83
By Christopher S. Rugaber, AP Economics Writer

Washington (AP) -- The unemployment rate has surpassed 10 percent for the first time since 1983 -- and is likely to go higher.

Nearly 16 million people can't find jobs even though the worst recession since the Great Depression has apparently ended. The Labor Department said Friday that the economy shed a net total of 190,000 jobs in October, less than the downwardly revised 219,000 lost in September. August job losses were also revised lower, to 154,000 from 201,000.

But the loss of jobs last month exceeded economists' estimates. It's the 22nd straight month the U.S. economy has shed jobs, the longest on records dating back 70 years.

The jobless rate rose to 10.2 percent from 9.8 percent in September. The jump reflects a sharp increase in the tally of unemployed Americans, which rose to 15.7 million from 15.1 million. [link]
The final nail in the coffin: It's going to get worse:

"Economists say it could climb as high as 10.5 percent next year because employers remain reluctant to hire."

Expect Obama to ask for another stimulus.

Expect the American people to ignore his request.

Patriots On The March

20,000 pissed off taxpayers marching on Washington, assembling on the steps of the Capitol, chanting, "KILL THE BILL!"

You need to see Mark Levin's speech beginning at about the 3:30 mark.

And this is only the beginning ...

Why should conservatives get all the epithets thrown at them?

So Obama is a homophobe.

Some advice, Barry. Don't fret. You'll get used to people charging that you don't like gay people (or black people) after the 80th time or so.

A Point I've Made Before

I should mention: The Democrats in this country will stop at nothing.

But there's the bigger point:
Dems exploit infant deaths to sell ObamaCare
By William Tate, American Thinker

There are lies, there are damned lies, and there are the statistics that Democrats have ginned up to try to sell ObamaCare.

The most recent example comes from statistics, bandied about by their media mouthpieces this week, purporting that infant mortality rates in the U.S. are proof that the healthcare system is sick and needs Drs. Obama, Pelosi and Reid to cure it.

Big Media reportedly breathlessly this week that the U.S. ranks 30th in infant mortality rates. They preached that that standing reflects the quality of the country's healthcare system, that we fall short of other countries and need to adopt ObmaCare.

Some media reports pointed out that the reason for the relatively high number of deaths was the number of premature births. They didn't say that among the main causes of premature births is the number of women, most of whom are in 'higher socioeconomic levels', choosing to receive infertility treatment in order to bear children.

[E]vidence indicates that the relatively high rate of infant mortality in the U.S. exists primarily because older women who can afford healthcare are choosing to have babies. [link]
The higher infant mortality rate here in the USA does not result from poor distribution of health care - as the assholes who would exploit the deaths of children to make that point would have you believe - it's due to the fact that, with the level of sophistication provided by our system, babies are being born today that would have never had the chance for viability in decades past.  Nor would those "premies" have had a prayer in any other system on earth. Here they are given that chance.  And, unfortunately, some of them don't make it.

Facts are stubborn things.  But they remain the facts.

Regardless what liberals in this country would have you believe.

Virginia Tech Didn't Need This

The Muslim who slaughtered all those innocent people down at Ft. Hood yesterday graduated from VT.

Let the Cho Seung-Hui analogies begin.

From today's New York Times:
A personnel record for Major Hasan obtained by The New York Times says that he was born in Virginia in September, 1970. He had an undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech. His record said that he had expressed no religious preference. His last posting was at Darnell Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, where he worked as a psychiatrist.
Good grief.

Islam For All The World To See

Thirteen dead.

Why?

Allah is great!

Great at anything besides driving believers to want to slaughter innocent human beings?

Let the excuses begin ...

I Had The Same Thought

When I heard on the radio, as I was driving home from work last night, Obama's response to the Ft. Hood Massacre, my impression was that this guy is reading something someone else wrote and really wants to be elsewhere.

But I don't like the guy.  So I thought maybe it was just me.

But no.  It wasn't just me.

Apparently I wasn't alone in gaining the impression that Obama didn't give two squirts that fellow countrymen had died at the hands of a crazed gunman at Ft. Hood.

From a member of the mainstream press:
Obama's Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting
By Robert A. George, NBC Chicago

President Obama didn't wait long after Tuesday's devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him? [link]
This comes only hours after Obama's adviser announced to the party faithful that Mr. Democrat hadn't been paying attention to the election returns (that showed his compatriots in Virginia and New Jersey taking a thrashing) that evening.  He was instead watching basketball on TV.

So now he's seen as taking a brief pause to read a few words of recognition that a tragedy had taken place down in Texas and then immediately switches gears and goes on to ... Let's talk about all the neat things my administration is doing for Indians.

Insensitivity?  That's being kind.
