Patriots Gathering In Roanoke on the 4th ...

... to celebrate "the last best hope of earth."  An invitation:

You are cordially invited to attend An American Celebration on July 4, 2010!

Roanoke Tea Party and Fox Radio 910 are proud to announce a free, non-partisan event for the 4th of July at Roanoke’s Elmwood Park - and educational homage to our Independence.

The past year has seen a divisive and deeply partisan political environment develop across the US, and in our beloved Roanoke Valley as well. When issues are large and differences great, such passions can’t help but be inflamed.

But just as any family puts aside disputes for special events, The Roanoke Tea Party and Fox Radio 910 are inviting everyone, regardless of their political persuasion, to join us on July 4 for An American Celebration at Elmwood Park. You won’t hear denunciations of one party or effusive praise for another – just a joyful accounting of why we are proud to be Americans.

This event will be equal parts celebration, education, discussion and fun. Activities will be offered for children, teens and adults with a sincere appreciation for what the date commemorates, the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. We will hear from area business leaders, military veterans, and naturalized citizens in the Roanoke Valley about what America means to them.
Best of all, this being the Fourth of July, you won't be pestered by those annoying liberals, commies, and Roanoke Times editorialists. They'd rather have their teeth pulled than be caught celebrating America. So enjoy yourself. Wave the flag. Sing this country's praises. Shout it from the rooftops.

While you're still allowed ...

Nice crowd @ Elmwood Park this afternoon. I couldn't find any hate speech although I'm sure Propaganda Minister Dan will make up some for Monday's ed. page in the Roanoke Rag.
