Where Is Boucher?

I'm smelling a rat.

In case you haven't been paying attention to the ongoing struggle that pits the American people against the Democratic leadership in Congress - and against Obama - over our soon-to-be wrecked health care system, Congressman Rick Boucher (D-VA9), back when it was not of critical importance, voted NO on ObamaCare.

Just recently he stated his intention to vote NO on the version of Government Care that will be put before the House of Representatives perhaps as soon as Sunday.

So why am I uneasy about this joker, always the good Democrat soldier, changing his mind at the last minute and voting to pass (or "pass") the most egregious piece of legislation of our lifetime?

(a) Because he's a good Democrat soldier.

(b) Because Fortitude has never been an item listed on his résumé.

(c) Because of this: On the effort to "deem" ObamaCare into law, without actually providing us with an up or down vote, Rick Boucher voted YEA.

Understand: He and they will have altered our way of life - dramatically - without ever having voted to do so.

And they will have done it in this we call the democratic republic of the United States of America.

Mark my words, he lets them get away with this and there's going to be hell to pay.

Hot Air on the Boucher vote:

A disgrace indeed.

Ny Times' David Brooks To Congressman Boucher:

You will fool no one with "deem and pass":
Barack Obama campaigned offering a new era of sane government. And I believe he would do it if he had the chance. But he has been so sucked into the system that now he stands by while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi talks about passing health care via “deem and pass” — a tricky legislative device in which things get passed without members having the honor or the guts to stand up and vote for it.

Deem and pass? Are you kidding me? Is this what the Revolutionary War was fought for? Is this what the boys on Normandy beach were trying to defend? Is this where we thought we would end up when Obama was speaking so beautifully in Iowa or promising to put away childish things?

Yes, I know Republicans have used the deem and pass technique. It was terrible then. But those were smallish items. This is the largest piece of legislation in a generation and Pelosi wants to pass it without a vote. It’s unbelievable that people even talk about this with a straight face. Do they really think the American people are going to stand for this? Do they think it will really fool anybody if a Democratic House member goes back to his district and says, “I didn’t vote for the bill. I just voted for the amendments.” Do they think all of America is insane?
From "Is Passing the Health Care Bill Really a Bad Idea?"

Are you paying attention, Mr. Boucher?  You've relied on a clueless and sycophantic press to look the other way as you - over the last quarter century - voted to destroy this country.  Oh, and to have that press print your silly shit about hiking trails and bike paths that will bring economic prosperity to this tortured region - someday.  Somehow.

Bu the press ain't what it used to be.

A new sheriff is in town.

Me.

Expect to never get a pass again.

You hide behind "deem and pass" and you can deem your future as a Democratic member of the House of Representatives terminated.

So Many Morons. So Few Prisons.

Think About It

A letter to the editor of the Roanoke Times:

A vow:

If the final version of ObamaCare (a) has that "preexisting condition" insurance mandate and (b) doesn't provide for a penalty (either monetary or penal) should I choose not to buy insurance, I will drop my health insurance coverage and enroll only when I come down with a "preexisting condition."

Why pay for it when I'm not getting anything from it?

You might want to think this through.

"Too many are uninsured not to pass reform"?  Stick around.  There will be a whole lot more "uninsured" as it dawns on people that they get a free pass, courtesy of ObamaCare.

How will they be spotted?

Headline of the day from Matt Drudge:

At the rate they're going, both will soon be beaten by the security camera at your friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary ...

... for the people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with their government ...

One American citizen prepares to dissolve the bands:

"If the government takes over health care, I will refuse to buy their package, refuse to pay the fine imposed, and make them arrest me. I will broadcast my refusal to cave to socialism on my website, on Facebook, to my students, in my lectures, and on the radio. I will fight this in the courts--or will the DC Fascists suspend the right to trial by jury? I suspect--and hope--that millions of Americans will do the same."

It's come to this.

Perriello Pledges To Keep 'Stealing'

Southside Congressman Tom Perriello can at least be called honest.  For an instant anyway.  A quote from a delivery he gave to a gathering of Jefferson Area Tea Party members on March 16:

"If you don't tie our hands, we will keep stealing."

So you folks over in the 5th District know, Perriello has voted in favor of every Democrat-sponsored spending measure that has come before him.

Do the rest of us a favor and tie this thief's hands, would you?

Democrats Say Social Security Will Pay for Itself in the Long Run

Expect to read a similar headline about our entire health care system, but much sooner than 2085.

Our Fearless Leader

The Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan brings to us an interesting exchange between Fox News's Bret Baier and President Obama.  One that speaks volumes about the latter's unwillingness to defend his health care proposal:
Mr. Baier pressed on the public's right to know what is in the bill. We have been debating the bill for a year, the president responded: "The notion that this has been not transparent, that people don't know what's in the bill, everybody knows what's in the bill. I sat for seven hours with -."

Mr. Baier interrupts: "Mr. President, you couldn't tell me what the special deals are that are in or not today."

Mr. Obama: "I just told you what was in and what was not in."

Mr. Baier: "Is Connecticut in?" He was referring to the blandishments - polite word - meant to buy the votes of particular senators.

Mr. Obama: "Connecticut - what are you specifically referring to?"

Mr. Baier: "The $100 million for the hospital? Is Montana in for the asbestos program? Is - you know, listen, there are people - this is real money, people are worried about this stuff."

Mr. Obama: "And as I said before, this - the final provisions are going to be posted for many days before this thing passes."
Why was Obama afraid to say "Yes, the Connecticut bribe is in" and "Yes, the Montana bribe is in"?

Transparent?  you decide.

Here's what our president was trying to avoid discussing - H.R. 4872 - Reconciliation Act of 2010

If You & Your Wife Earn More Than $250,000 ...

... the Caymans are beckoning.

Obama is planning - through his health care proposal - to honor his campaign pledge and redistribute your "wealth."

In other words, he's going to tax your ass until it bleeds.

See the fine print in "Understanding the new health reconciliation bill."

Get over it.  The growing number of leaches among us have better use of your hard-earned income than you do.  Any sitting United States president will tell you that.

A Call To Arms

Judge Andrew Napolitano on the gathering storm.

"In the long history of the world only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its maximum hour of danger.  You are that generation.  This is your role.  Now is that time.  Freedom must be defended from every assailant in every corner of this country, from outside the country, from inside the country, and especially the government that wants to take it away from us."

It's up to us.
