Explain The Mindset. I Can't.

Passenger trains are inconvenient.

Passenger trains are grossly inefficient.

Passenger trains are extremely expensive to operate.

Passenger trains serve no purpose for 99.9% of the American populace.

Passenger trains are - with maybe one exception - egregiously cost-ineffective.

Passenger trains are the most polluting of all means of transportation ever devised by human beings.*

So the Roanoke Times editorial page has decided that ...

... we should have lots more of them.

May God have mercy.
