Then there's the "green jobs" initiative that his kind like to orgasm over. Want the government's green? Go green.
Which brings us to Solyndra. Where both these worlds - crony capitalism and "green" madness - collide.
And where America's taxpayers are out half a billion dollars as a result.
Obama: Oh, well. We tried. Next! How 'bout you, Guido, mi amigo, ya want some of this action?
The story behind the story:
Republicans: Solyndra investment 'dubious' from the startThe American taxpayer - when this sad saga plays out - may very well be out half a billion dollars. Any bets on how much Obama's friend and political financier has lost?
By Darren Goode, Politico
House Republicans vow to continue their probe of the Energy Department’s $535 million loan guarantee to Solyndra, saying the solar equipment manufacturer’s announcement Wednesday that it will file for bankruptcy underscores that the federal aid was a “dubious” investment.
“We smelled a rat from the onset,” said a joint statement from House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and the panel’s oversight subcommittee chairman, Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.).
DOE initially made the loan guarantee in 2009, shortly before the company closed one of its factories and laid off workers. Solyndra executives have more recently insisted the company was healthy, but on Wednesday it announced that it has suspended manufacturing, is laying off 1,100 workers and will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Besides questioning whether the company was a poor risk, critics have seized on news reports that one of Solyndra's prime financial backers was an Obama campaign bundler in 2008. [link]
This story is indicative of everything that is wrong with Obama and his mindset. Like the alchemists of old who thought they could turn lead into gold, modern day alchemists think they can turn solar energy into a practical, viable energy source. It ain't gonna happen.
Couple that with the fact that Obama has trillions of other people's money he's prepared to fling into the gutter - and has lots of friends prepared to be there and suck it up - and you end up with ... Solyndra.
Meanwhile, business - real business - in this country is suffering and dying. See weblog entries below for sad examples.
It wasn't supposed to be like this.
It can't be like this.
Things have to change or we're doomed.

This is only one of at least three "green" companies which have failed. His "Green Jobs" Program has been a spectacular disaster. In spite of this and the fact that Obama-ayers and his Democrat Party of Death have spent us into bankruptcy, he and they are going to propose more of the same.
If you were really concerned with spending, or fraud, or waste you would have to come to grips with the tens of billions wasted in Iraq.
Remind us again how much that embassy in Baghdad cost.
Bush! Halliburton! No Blood for Oil! Bush Lied!
Yes, I live in the past. But it's all I've got.
OV...sad but true
