On That 'Consensus'

There are those who still propose that we raise taxes to prevent CO2 from heating up the globe's temperature (see post below) (higher tax rates being the answer to all the world's problems).  Because CO2 levels are dangerously high.  So says a new study:

New research, to be published in the journal Climatic Change in November, suggests humankind may have to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere on a vast scale if emissions keep rising after 2020.

Gosh. That's bad, right?

Well, no.  The planet could use a healthy dose of CO2 says some other expert:

Award-winning Princeton University Physicist Dr. Will Happer declared man-made global warming fears “mistaken” and noted that the Earth was currently in a “CO2 famine now.”

So which is it? Is CO2 good or bad? Do we have too much of it or not enough? Is it safe or unsafe?

The point: We don't know.

And until we do, let's not accept politicians' and environmentalists' demands that we run around like chickens with their heads cut off in a wholesale war on something that may be of benefit to humankind or may not.

You experts get back to us when you've got this figured out.

And to Al Gore and Bill Clinton: Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about.
