Why Did We Get Involved Again?

This appeared on CNN.com two weeks ago, after Moammar Gadhafi was driven into exile by U.S. backed rebels:

A major win.

Empty propaganda? Wishful thinking?  Blind sycophancy?

Everyone (except perhaps those at CNN) knew the following were part of the equation that Obama, Clinton, and fellow White House geniuses refused to consider when they went off on this little venture in nation building. No sooner was Obama's "major win" extolled by the press than this headline appeared: Sharia Enshrined in Libyan Draft Constitution

Sharia, as in the 9th century code that Islam imposes on its congregation that places women just above chickens in the food chain, where "crimes against chastity" result in public execution, and where freedom can go to hell:

That goes well with this headline from three days ago: Libya’s Powerful Islamist Leader (that's Islamist, as in anti-U.S. Sharia fanatic).

And, to top it all off, this comes to us in today's news: Libyan rebels round up black Africans.

Can we talk about that big win again?

I for one didn't know why we went there in the first place. And I don't see what Obama has won now that he's declared "mission accomplished."
