Another Chapter In Weinergate Novel

I knew the name of New York Democrat Representative Anthony Weiner's (the dude who is denying like crazy that it was a photo of his ... wiener that was sent to a Seattle coed) spouse, Huma Abedin, sounded familiar.

See "Aide Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton Lesbian Love Affair Rumors Explode."

I'm just the messenger here, folks.

But new dimensions open up ...

Of course, seeing this, I might go lesbian too.

Huntsman Has More Support Than I Thought

With the mainstream press so eager for the Republican Party to nominate John Huntsman for president, I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the following that he's garnered in the primary primary state:

We polled 481 Republicans in Iowa. 1 picked Jon Huntsman. Not 1%. 1 respondent.

Who knew the enthusiasm ran that high?

I Don't Care

The damage is done.  His career is in ruins.   His plans for glory and acclaim have been dashed.

So I don't really care what happens to John Edwards now.  As long as Mr. Liberal Bleeding Heart stays out of my life forever.

This?   Let the lawyers pick his putrefying bones:

Edwards, feds arguing if money was donated or gift

Whatever. Wake me when it's over.

How To End The Scourge Of Rape

Works for me:

Woman takes attacker's penis to cop

All the talk about repeat offenders and recidivism and the like?

I don't think we need to worry about this lowlife raping anyone ever again.

May God Have Mercy

One thing's for certain:

Climate change could give you brain fungus

Someone surely suffers from brain fungus.

Ship of Fools

After the intitial shock wore off, having read the headline - "Of Course: Obama’s Commerce Department Nominee is a Global Warming Fanatic" - and coming to terms with the fact that Barack Obama and accompanying loons can indeed find a correlation between commerce - or the destruction thereof - and "global warming,"  I came to accept this as almost making sense.

But then I read further and found out that Obama's nominee is the "co-founder of the liberal environmentalist group Natural Resources Defense Council."  The Natural Resources Defense Council being an advocacy group calling for the destruction of the human race for its own good, before it's too late and the human race self-destructs.

An environmental advocate.

Call me old-fashioned, but shouldn't a Commerce Secretary have some background in commerce?

But then I try to remember, the guy who nominated him has no background for his position either.

And it shows.

Quote of the Day

The Wall Street Journal on New York's senior senator making a tidy living by decrying legislation that he voted for:
It was almost easy to forget that Mr. [Charles] Schumer helped enact the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley financial accounting law when he spent much of the rest of the decade complaining about the stifling burden of financial regulations.

Looking forward, we can expect Mr. Schumer to express at myriad fundraising events his sympathy for those living with the consequences of Dodd-Frank. It's a good bet that he'll also claim that, if not for his valiant efforts on Capitol Hill, the financial reform would have been so much worse. And expect New York's financial elite to keep writing checks.

There's a word for people who keep falling for this: suckers.

Sarah Palin Drives 'Em Batty

Get this.  An MSNBC host went after private citizen/non-candidate-for-anything Sarah Palin last night for a possible breach of federal law.  The violation?

She has the American flag painted on the side of her tour bus.

Yeah, I know.  It's MSNBC, where intelligence is a rare commodity.

But is this guy for real?

Here's one Martin Bashir "clearing the air":
"This is not a campaign bus," she said on Fox News. "This is a bus to express to American[s] how much we appreciate our foundation and to invite more people to be interested about all that is good about America." It all sounds like a wonderful commitment to American values and American history, but it's nothing of the kind. In fact, the whole thing could be in breach of a federal law because the United States Flag Code establishes important rules for the use and display of the stars and stripes, the flag of the United States. Under standards of respect and etiquette, it's made clear that the flag of the United States should never be used for any advertising purpose whatsoever. Yet that's precisely what Sarah Palin is doing. She's using the flag of the United States for her own financial purposes. She drapes herself in the stars and stripes and makes millions of dollars in the process. This has got nothing to do with the presidency and everything to do with filling her pockets. And by raising her profile, she raises her income. It is as simple as that. So she was right when she said that hers is not a campaign bus. It's a cash bus and she'll keep it rolling for as long as she can. [link]
That may be the stupidest thing I've ever read.  Sarah Palin is breaking the law by using the American flag for personal gain?  One can only laugh.

My guess is this Bashir character has never followed country music, where Old Glory (along with the tractor, the dog, the whiskey, and the cheating spouse) is a mainstay of the genre.  And where more than a few bucks change hands in the process.

But beyond that, doesn't this moron have better things to complain about?  Have his kind run out of Palin gripes?

This is so pathetic I feel sorry for mainstream journalism.  Again.
