Headline of the Day

One would have difficulty, after reading the story, to argue with this:

What wonderful human beings they are.

For The Love Of God

The question must be asked: How many Muslim countries are there in all for Obama to go to war against anyway?

I've lost count. Is this the fourth or fifth war we're now fighting?

And what are we hoping to achieve?

And is Syria next?

Tunisia?

Egypt?

Indonesia?

Dearborn, Michigan?

Obama Wins On Two Fronts

He's killing coal and he's causing utility rates to "necessarily skyrocket."

How proud he must be:
Coal Regs Would Kill Jobs, Boost Energy Bills
By Paul Bedard, US News

Two new EPA pollution regulations will slam the coal industry so hard that hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost, and electric rates will skyrocket 11 percent to over 23 percent, according to a new study based on government data.

Overall, the rules aimed at making the air cleaner could cost the coal-fired power plant industry $180 billion, warns a trade group.

“Many of these severe impacts would hit families living in states already facing serious economic challenges,” said Steve Miller, president of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. “Because of these impacts, EPA should make major changes to the proposed regulations before they are finalized,” he said.

The EPA, however, tells Whispers that the hit the industry will suffer is worth the health benefits. “EPA has taken a number of sensible steps to protect public health, while also working with industry and other stakeholders to ensure that these important Clean Air Act standards—such as the first ever national Mercury and Air Toxics Standards for coal-fired power plants—are reasonable, common-sense, and achievable,” said spokesman Brendan Gilfillan. Obama proudly proclaimed his intention:

"Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."

Though cap-and-trade is dead, the EPA lives. And his "plan" is working.

Think times are bad now? Just wait. The worst is yet to come.

1) I know this seems to fly in the face of my earlier argument that Obama's not purposely wrecking this country; that he's merely out of his league. But if you watch the interview from 2008 in which he proudly proclaimed his intention to bankrupt the coal industry and force utility rates to skyrocket, you're overwhelmed by the thought that he hasn't the first clue as to the unintended consequences his goofy-yet-damaging environmentalist notions would have. Obama wanted to destroy the industry, and now laments the resulting unemployment problem.

Does that sound like Machiavelli or Elmer Fudd?

2) Some day some legislator is going to take on the EPA when it pulls out this ploy:

"What’s more, officials said that just one of the rules to cut sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions will would yield up to $290 billion in annual health and welfare benefits in 2014. They say that amounts to preventing up to 36,000 premature deaths, 26,000 hospital and emergency room visits, and 240,000 cases of aggravated asthma. 'This far outweighs the estimated annual costs,' says an official on background."

Bullshit.

It reminds you of all the nebulous millions of jobs that Obama "saved or created," doesn't it?

Those emissions are occurring today. Yet our hospitals around the country are empty (and many are closing from lack of occupancy).

"36,000 premature deaths, 26,000 hospital and emergency room visits, and 240,000 cases of aggravated asthma." Really? Name names.

Apocalypse Now

This seems a bit overwrought, but you decide.

From "Obama and the End of Western Civilization":
The global and domestic landscape is one of turmoil, indecision, and uncertainty. Everywhere one looks there is chaos and potential disaster, whether in the financial, economic, or political sphere. Since the beginning of the post-World War II era there has been one constant that has been the stabilizing force in the world: the stature, power, and influence of the United States. In a matter of a few short years the Obama presidency has deliberately and overwhelmingly eroded America's pre-eminence, which has resulted in global instability and domestic unease.

Unfortunately there is, currently, a president who does not believe in American Exceptionalism and is determined to allow chaos, both domestic and international, to metastasize and change the United States and world forever. This mindset, combined with a lack of forceful leaders of other nations, will result in another financial catastrophe, the rise of a hegemonic China, an inevitable military conflict in the Middle East, and the spread of radical Islam. The ultimate goal of the fall of Western civilization will then be realized, but at a massive and bloody cost. The handwriting is on the wall; will anyone pay attention?
Me? I chalk it up to Obama being ill-prepared for, and totally overwhelmed by, circumstances of his own creation. In short, he doesn't know what he's doing.

But I'm not willing to reject the he's-intentionally-out-to-destroy-the-USA argument. He's done too much in too short a time to completely dismiss the notion.

I hold to the premise that he's "Lucy In The Candy Factory." Watch the video. See if you don't agree.
