Memo To Bob Goodlatte (3)

Congressman Goodlatte, if, as you say, the bill you're sponsoring in the House  - the "Stop Online Piracy Act" - is being misconstrued by those of us out here in the hinterlands who aren't as smart as you, why is it the internet is going dark in protest?

Bob.  Let's be honest.  If you were dictator, then I might agree with you that your legislation - because you say so and you carry the big stick - won't have a stifling effect on the freedom of expression that so wonderfully flows on the internet.  Because you could then oversee its implementation.  But you're a committee chairman, not Il Duce.  If the Democrat-controlled-Senate got a hold of it, and then Obama the Socialist got his controlling mitts on it, We the People would forever be subjugated.

So listen to those of us who harbor no ill will toward you and take heed.  SOPA is bad legislation.  Give it up.
