When You Run Out of Ideas ...

What's a poor newspaper political cartoonist to do when he's obligated to dream something up by deadline but hasn't a fresh idea bouncing around in that cavernous expanse of brain pan?  If he's Chris Obrion and the paper is the Roanoke Times, he draws silly and incomprehensible bullshit like this.  (It's copyrighted so I'm reluctant to reproduce it, regardless of "fair use" laws.)

Memo to Chris:  Your newspaper's editorial page derives more laughter from its readers than does its funnies.  Surely there's material there with which you can work.
