NBC Alarmism: Global Warming 'Could Cause a Whole Lot of Damage Much Sooner'
By Kyle Drennen, NewsBusters

Seizing on warmer than usual temperatures across the country on Wednesday's NBC Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams ominously warned viewers: "Much warmer weather can have a dark side, of course. And tonight there is a new projection that rising seas due to climate change could cause a whole lot of damage much sooner than anyone had previously thought."

Correspondent Anne Thompson used recent weather events to drive the point home: "The ferocious surge of the Atlantic powered by Hurricane Irene last August moved a lifeguard tower...broke through a sea wall, and sent water rushing into the streets of New York's Long Beach. A scene that will become more commonplace, a new study says, because of rising sea levels caused by global warming." [link]
Recent weather events.

In one relatively small portion of the globe.

The results of which make people think global warming is causing calamity across the Seven Seas.

These people ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Here's the rule to go by: Anytime you see a huckster tell you that some change in the weather could happen, dismiss anything said after that. Because it'll be nothing but unsubstantiated bullshit after that.

"There is a new projection that rising seas due to climate change could cause a whole lot of damage ..."

Nonsense.
