Real Bright

I'm reminded of the turbulent 60's, when African-Americans were so upset with racist America that they torched black-owned businesses, black-owned vehicles, and black-owned homes in Detroit, Watts, D.C., Newark, Harlem, and on and on.

I know.  I know.  It didn't make a whole lot of sense back then either.

Well, something of the sort occurred again just the other day.  But this "riot" didn't have anything to do with black people or that racist America that seems to still thrive in the age of Obama.  The latest riot came about as disaffected leftists decided to destroy property belonging to San Francisco leftists.

Take that, Rush Limbaugh:

Business owners in San Francisco's Mission District, cleaning up after a night in which protesters damaged more than 30 stores and restaurants and vandalized cars, questioned Tuesday why activists had singled them out and why police hadn't done more to halt the rampage.

Among those dealing with the damage were officers at the neighborhood police station, where black-clad, masked activists threw paint and bashed the front door Monday night.

Even as they defended themselves from criticism that they had allowed the vandals to run wild - one restaurant owner said officers even appeared to be "escorting" the group - high-level police officials met to find a better way to handle out-of-control crowds. [link]

We should probably feel sorry for those shop owners. They didn't deserve this.

On the other hand, if you lie down with dogs ...
