A Wake-Up Call To UMW Members

You're probably as shocked as the rest of us about the fact that your union leadership has come out and endorsed the candidacy of Democrat Anthony Flaccavento in Virginia's 9th Congressional District race.

That would be environmental kook Anthony Flaccavento.

More than just a kook, though, you should know that he's one of them.  An environmentalist Democrat who's signalling his intention to join the ranks of Obama's buddies in Washington who are diligently working to bankrupt the entire mining industry.

From a Mason Adams interview in the Roanoke Times with Flaccavento’s communications director, Dave Miranda:

"Miranda said Flaccavento seeks to balance support for the coal industry with reasonable protections that will result in “breathable air, drinkable water” and a decrease in black lung among miners."

The emphasis is mine.  The intentions are about as clear as they can be.

Thanks to Obama and the Democratic Party more than 100 coal-fired power plants are being forced to close in the next few years.  To solve a problem that doesn't exist.

Environmentalists like Anthony Flaccavento have seen to that.

Your leadership in the United Mine Workers wants to give him the power to shut the rest of the plants around the country down, and throw you out of work.

This placard was seen recently over in Dickenson County.  It expresses a sentiment shared by everyone in the coalfields:

You'd do well to add the name Anthony Flaccavento to that sign.
