Griffith Garners NRA Endorsement

This should come as no surprise as his opponent seems to have no opinion whatsoever on the subject, and went out of his way to alienate one of the most powerful lobbying groups in America.

From a press release:
Morgan Griffith Endorsed by the National Rifle Association

Chrsitiansburg, VA - The campaign of Congressman Morgan Griffith was endorsed today by the National Rifle Association, who gave Congressman Griffith an A+ rating for his commitment to defending the rights of gun owners across Southwest Virginia.

"I am proud to receive this endorsement, and proud to stand up for the rights of gun owners all across Southwest Virginia," said Congressman Griffith. "I have always been committed to the Second Amendment, an individual's right to bear arms and Virginia's rich hunting heritage."

Griffith is running for re-election to Congress in Virginia's 9th District, which stretches from the Alleghany Highlands to Martinsville down to Lee County, Virginia.

"Our region has always believed in traditional values and had a strong gun heritage," said Congressman Griffith. "I will continue to protect these values as a member of Congress."

Griffith has an opponent in this year's election, Democrat Anthony Flaccavento. The National Rifle Association says that Mr. Flaccavento's failure to answer their federal questionnaire should be seen as "a sign of indifference or outright hostility to the rights of gun owners and sportsmen."
Since Flaccavento's originally from New York, I'm going with hostility.

Maybe someone out there knows where Flaccavento stands on the 2nd Amendment?
