What The Experts Don't Understand About Football

They're all in a tizzy over the fact that the referee strike is destroying "the game."  What they don't seem to understand is the fact that it's a game.  A spectator sport.  A sport that has become, in recent weeks, a wildly entertaining spectator sport.  Enhanced by the referee strike.

A horrible situation?

Yeah, horrible for the likes of the Green Bay Packers.

But because of the Packers' plight, watch ratings and attendance throughout the NFL climb.

Horrible?  It'll be horrible to watch the team owners try to figure out a way to take all their loot to the bank.

Trust me.  I know marketing.  And the referee strike is marketing gold.

The owners now have every reason to kick back and hope the strike lasts forever.
