Afghanistan Spiraling Out Of Control

The Drudge Report this morning features headlines that reveal the sad state of affairs.

From "Afghan president wants U.S. troops out of villages..." To "Thousands protest, chant anti-American slogans...." To "Karzai: Get Out." To "Obama Fills Out NCAA Basketball Bracket...."

It gets worse by the day.

And our president doesn't know what to do.

Miss him yet?

It's come to this: Distrust of the loyalties of your own troops.

Yeah, That'll Stop The Slaughter

I think radical leftist (and close friend of Jeremiah Wright) Michael Pfleger has hit upon the cause of Chicago's horrendous murder rate.  Kmart.

Ya can't make these guys up.

Go to "Pfleger fires on toy guns in Easter baskets." And be amused.

Pfleger:
“I am writing to express my concern and outrage that Kmart is selling Easter baskets, which are obviously for children, with toy guns in them.

“With the increasing gun violence in Chicago and across this country, I am amazed that you would choose to offer toy guns to our children to make them comfortable with playing with them. I am asking you to remove any baskets with toy guns in them from your store’s shelves immediately,”
There you have it. The murder rampage in Chicago is the result of squirt guns being sold in Easter baskets!

For the love of God.

* For the record, there are four - count 'em four - Kmart stores selling fully automatic high-powered assault weapons squirt guns in the city of Chicago. A city of 2,695,569 human beings.   Doing the math, the potential for little kids in the murder capital of the world to be lured by Easter baskets into a life of gangbangin' and mayhem is staggering.

So Much For Hope & Change

At some point, once you win, you have to produce results.

And that's going to be a tough one for Mr. I'm-The-One-I've-Been-Waiting-For.

Two headlines should send a message to him that the rah-rah and bluster may not work this time around.

First, from Reuters, October 7, 2008 (when George W. Bush owned the economy):

"Obama: U.S. in worst crisis since Depression: Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Tuesday that the United States is in the worst financial crisis of the Great Depression as he opened a debate with Republican rival John McCain."

Yesterday, The American Spectator:

"The Worst Economic Recovery Since the Great Depression: The record of President Obama's first three years in office is in, and nothing that happens now can go back and change that. What that record shows is that President Obama, with his throwback, old-fashioned, 1970s Keynesian economics, has put America through the worst recovery from a recession since the Great Depression."

Obama wanted to own the economy.  Now he does just that.  And no whining about George W. Bush is going to mitigate that fact.

I Am Woman. Hear Me Whimper.

Feminists flatter themselves with with self-images that travel this path:

But let someone - say Rush Limbaugh - call one of them a name and ...
Who is Sandra Fluke?
By Ann Coulter, Human Events

What with liberal women constantly talking about their vaginas suddenly pretending to be offended by the word "slut," and conservatives pretending to be as pussified as liberals about the nasty names they've been called, I never got an answer to the most pressing question about Sandra Fluke: Who are you again?

Was Fluke dragged out of obscurity after the women of America took a vote and chose her as our spokeswoman? Please, Sandra, we know how deeply private, publicity-shy and terribly busy with law school you are, but we need you to speak for us!

I don't think that happened. Rather, Fluke is the latest in a long line of my absolute favorite liberal typology: hysterical drama queens.

From Murphy Brown to the Jersey Girls, Cindy Sheehan, Joe Wilson and the New School's Jean Rohe, these fantasists inject themselves into a boiling-hot public debate and then claim victim status when anyone criticizes them. [link]
What fascinates me about this is the fact that the author of this piece - Ann Coulter - is the feminist ideal. She's strong-willed, decisive, tenacious, articulate, and wildly successful.

Yet feminists hate her guts.

Maybe because Coulter is strong-willed, decisive, ...?

Speaks volumes.

With the Sandra Fluke controversy playing out the way it has, one has to wonder just who the feminist ideal, in truth, is.

I'm going out on a limb here ...

I AM WOMAN. HEAR ME ROAR Please don't say bad things about me or I might burst into tears and demand that your cruel radio show be banned.

A last point: Sandra Fluke - the poster child of modern-day feminism - wants to have her sexual intercourse to be both consequence-free (think condoms) and cost-free.  Isn't that what sluttish men have wanted since the beginning of time? Whose cause is she championing again?

They Live In a Sheltered World

It's funny to listen to leftists - feminists in particular - what few remain on this planet - talk about how "women" are outraged by Republicans' efforts to do this or that to them.  And about how "Americans" are aroused like never before because of it.  And that the Republicans have no chance now in November, since they've proven themselves to the entire world to be "anti-woman."

And then the polls come out and the opposite proves to be the case.

Too funny:
Pundits Gasp As The Economy Dents Obama's Ratings
By Michael Barone, Investor's Business Daily

You can almost hear the note of surprise in their voices when you read the Washington Post and New York Times reporters' stories on their papers' latest political polls.

Surprise! Just when they thought that Barack Obama was pulling ahead, with positive job ratings, and just after the mainstream media have been savaging Republicans for two words Rush Limbaugh uttered on his radio program, Obama's numbers seem to be tanking.

Actually, the numbers are not so striking or so surprising.

[S]ome fundamentals are unlikely to change. Voters' focus is on economic issues and on these most oppose the president's policies. His media cheerleaders who thought his February numbers meant the election was over were fooling themselves. [link]
As an impeached president once said, "It's the economy, stupid."

Which means that all efforts to make the 2012 general election campaign about The Uterus! may prove to be futile.

Though Obama and his feminist ilk have little else to campaign on, to be sure.
