The Difference Between Them & Us

They're freaking stupid.

I've always been rather awestruck by those in the Tea Party movement who can quote from the Federalist Papers, from John Locke, from The Road To Serfdom, from John Galt, from Hobbes, from George Orwell, from Milton Friedman, from Winston Smith, from Adam Smith.

Those Occupiers?

Amusing to say the least.

On Obama's 'Autobiography'

I'm reminded of the days when the mainstream press decided that oral sex wasn't sex.  Because it was the liberal media's buddy in the White House who was doing non-sexual activity all over Monica Lewinsky's blue dress.  It wasn't sex.  It was ... something other than sex.

So when is an autobiography (i.e., a person's life history) that proves to have been fictionalized not fiction?

When the media's buddy is in the White House.

We knew that Obama had help writing Dreams From My Father.  Now we learn there were no dreams and, for all we know, no father.

And the press justifies the bizarre story with the explanation that non-fiction can sometimes - now - contain an element of fiction.

Those of us not living in Bizarro World, however, have a different take on it:  Obama made it all up.

And how proud they are of his accomplishment ...

Obama's America Is Not My America

What goes through a free-thinking person's mind when he comes up with the kind of perverse government-is-all-things-to-all-people regimen that Barack Obama and his ilk have in store for us? This is seriously disturbing:
Who the hell is "Julia," and why am I paying for her whole life?
By David Harsanyi, Human Events

In the new Barack Obama campaign piece The Life of Julia, voters can "Take a look at how President Obama's policies help one woman over her lifetime -- and how Mitt Romney would change her story." It is one of the most brazenly statist pieces of campaign literature I can ever remember seeing.

Let's, for the purposes of this post, set aside the misleading generalizations regarding policy in the ad (no one is innocent on that account, obviously). What we are left with is a celebration of a how a woman can live her entire life by leaning on government intervention, dependency and other people's money rather than her own initiative or hard work. It is, I'd say, implicitly un-American, in the sense that it celebrates a mindset we have -- outwardly, at least -- shunned.

It is also a mindset that women should find offensively patronizing. [A]ccording to the "Life of Julia," women are helpless without the guiding hand of Barack Obama.

Julia can enroll in a Head Start program to help get her ready for school. Because of steps President Obama has taken to improve the program … Julia can take the SATs because she was trained by the useless “Race to the Top” program, yes, implemented by President Obama … During college, Julia undergoes surgery, which is thankfully covered by her insurance due to parents' coverage until she turns 26 … thanks to Obama.

Julia works as a full-time web designer, and thanks to Obamacare, her health insurance is required to cover birth control and preventive care, "letting Julia focus on her work rather than worry about her health...

Finally, Julia retires. “After years of contributing to Social Security, she receives monthly benefits that help her retire comfortably, without worrying that she'll run out of savings...

If you think Social Security benefits allow you to live your retirement without worry, you deserve Barack Obama. [link]
Cradle to grave government assistance.

And we're still debating whether Obama is a socialist or not?

End of discussion.

Is California Beyond Help?

"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."
-- Ben Franklin --

A startling statistic speaks to the fact that the state of California is on a glide path to destruction:

A third of all U.S. welfare recipients live in California.

What with those who are paid to hand out government checks in cahoots with those who are on the receiving end, leaving the few remaining taxpayers to try and fend for themselves at the ballot box, is it any wonder that the state is in such a state?

Worse yet, most people there don't care. They're perfectly happy with conditions such as they are.

At least until the teat goes dry ...

The Left-Wing Media In Full Crackup Mode

If you've been following the news, this makes sense:

If you've been following the news, this makes absolutely no sense.
