Roanoke Times: Ignore Obama's Past

The editorial staff there prefers that you pay attention only to that which comes out of his mouth today.

Too bad there's video of everything he's said and done over the last several years.

That video:

You are welcome to buy into his promises. Or you can judge the man based upon his record.

I know which action the Roanoke Times prefers.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Hillary Befuddled

She was so proud of what the Islamists were doing.  "Arab Spring" was blossoming across the middle East.  And the future looked promising for all those "democrats" in places like Libya and Egypt who simply yearned to be free.

And now Americans are being  murdered:
American killed in Libya protest over film
By Maggie Michael and Sarah El Deeb, Associated Press

Cairo (AP) — Protesters angered over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad fired gunshots and burned down the U.S. consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, killing one American, witnesses and the State Department said. In Egypt, protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, and tore and replaced the American flag with an Islamic banner.

Tuesday's attacks were the first such assaults on U.S. diplomatic facilities in either country, at a time when both Libya and Egypt are struggling to overcome the turmoil following the ouster of their longtime leaders, Moammar Gadhafi and Hosni Mubarak, in uprisings last year.

The protests in both countries were sparked by outrage over a film ridiculing Muhammad produced by an Israeli filmmaker living in California and being promoted by an extreme anti-Muslim Egyptian Christian campaigner in the United States. Excerpts from the film dubbed into Arabic were posted on YouTube.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton confirmed that one State Department officer had been killed in the protest at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. She strongly condemned the attack and said she had called Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif "to coordinate additional support to protect Americans in Libya."

Clinton expressed concern that the protests might spread to other countries. She said the U.S. is working with "partner countries around the world to protect our personnel, our missions, and American citizens worldwide."

"Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet," Clinton said in a statement released by the State Department. "The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind." [link]
Yeah. Whatever.

Hillary Clinton and her boss decided to dance with the devil. And the devil turned on them. As predicted by everyone around the world who didn't have mush for brains.

So predictable. So unfortunate.

Naturally, Hillary's State Department released an apology to those who ended up murdering an American diplomat:

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."

Right. We don't want to "hurt" their religious beliefs.

Mitt Romney had this to say in response to the news that American embassies are in flames and an American diplomat was dragged from our consulate in Benghazi and murdered:

"I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks."

Expect Hillary's State Department to be outraged.  By Romney's harsh words.

And to add fuel to the fire:

In unusual snub, Obama to avoid meeting Netanyahu

Dissing our friends. Bowing to our enemies. May God have mercy.

How things might have been different ...

Palin: 'If Obama Doesn’t Have a “Big Stick” to Carry, Maybe It’s Time for Him to Grow One'

Not meaning to go up against the Sarahcuda, but Obama does have "the big stick." It's holstered in his wife's jockey shorts.

- - -

I wonder if the news about the cold-blooded murder of an American diplomat by jihadists has reached our campaigner-in-chief yet:

"President Obama is touting his foreign policy experience on the campaign trail, but startling new statistics suggest that national security has not necessarily been the personal priority the president makes it out to be. It turns out that more than half the time, the commander in chief does not attend his daily intelligence meeting."

Someone needs to go out on the campaign trail and find Obama. The family of the slain diplomat deserves a form letter.

Here's the "befuddled" part.  The State Department working out of Cairo doesn't communicate with the State Department in Washington.  See Obama administration disavows Obama administration apology.

Jesus God.

You might wonder what Obama had to say yesterday about the dastardly attacks on our embassies and consulate abroad.  On 9/11 of all days.

He said nothing.

As Any Military Veteran Will Tell You ...

... admirals don't become admirals because they are good at what they do.  They get to be admirals because they're good politicians who know whose ass to kiss when.

So what if one of them mistakes a Russian battle squadron for an American battle squadron.

He's an Obama supporter.

And he probably has a medal on his chest to prove it.

You just can't make this stuff up ...

Dear God

The doofus who is but a heartbeat away from being President had this to say yesterday, on the anniversary of 9/11:

"It is a bittersweet moment for the entire nation."

I have no idea where he was going with that.

Nor does he.

The Democrats Deny God

God gets His revenge:

"Idaho authorities say a pilot flying over a Republican gathering had been dropping rolls of toilet paper or streamers from his airplane before it crashed."

The pilot died.

It's at this point I'm supposed to write something cheesy about a life being cut short and about God protecting idiots from harm, etc.

I'm working on it ...

We're Now On Borrowed Time

And time is running out:

America's Under Water: Debt Equals 103 Percent of GDP

Tick ... tick ...tick ... tick ...

* For what it's worth, the Democratic National Convention, recently concluded, adopted a call for the federal government to borrow an additional three-quarters of a trillion dollars for purposes unimportant.

Not All Of Hollywood Is Blinded By The Halo

Jon Voight passes judgment on the last four years that have been such torment for this country:

"This will be the first President to ever weaken America."

Say it, brutha.

- - -

And Voight isn't alone.  Hollywood mega-dude Brad Pitt believes - at least in part - in the principles upon which this country was founded:

"America is a country founded on guns. It’s in our DNA. It’s very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don’t feel safe, I don’t feel the house is completely safe, if I don’t have one hidden somewhere. That’s my thinking, right or wrong."

I knew there was something I liked about that guy.  Besides Angelina being at his side.

Why We Have An Education Department

It's not to educate anyone.  It never has.

It's to hand out cash to the unions:

Federal Subsidies to Chicago Schools: $4 Billion in 4 Years; $10,540 Per Student

Eliminate the U. S. Department of Education. Let Chicago deal with Chicago.
