A Fitting Tribute

Grandchildren of Holocaust survivors are having the concentration camp numbers the Nazis tattooed on their  elders' arms tattooed on theirs.

Lest we forget.

Quote of the Day

From Keith Hennessey:

"For decades the Washington Post was the paper of record for DC. Over the past few years POLITICO has supplanted the Post in that role. When the Post’s staff publishes an obviously partisan hit piece with such weak intellectual support less than six weeks before Election Day, they destroy any credibility they have for objectivity or nonpartisan reporting. That’s a shame."

Oh, for the good old days when the Washington Post could publish obviously partisan hit pieces with such weak intellectual support and get away with it.

We Deserve Better From Our Gov't

A letter was sent to the Wall Street Journal by Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns the other day.  In it, he asked that America not ask questions about the Libya debacle.  Not now.  Because everyone at the State Department is in mourning over the loss of compatriots and friends.  He asks that we give his team members a chance to continue the grieving process.

He doesn't give any indication as to when we can talk to his boss about how it is that their department created conditions that allowed for four of our fellow Americans to be completely defenseless - on 9/11 - in the most hostile Islamist region on the planet.  A lack of preparedness that deserves an explanation.  An egregious lack of foresight that contributed directly to their deaths

Some day.  Maybe.  But not now.

I'm not sure I blame him for wanting to avoid such a discussion.

So let's just shut down the freaking government until he and his kind are finished with the tears and woe.

Sooner or later, though, we are going to get answers, pal.

The Religion Of Peace Here In The USA

Two things to understand about the following video (provided courtesy of The United West.org):

(1) The Muslims who spoke at this parade in New York City have every right to think and say what they think and say.

(2) The Muslims who spoke at the parade are demanding that your right to think and say whatever you think and wish to say be banned.

Watch.  And be very concerned:

This occurred just blocks from that hallowed ground where some 2,800 Americans were slaughtered by the brethren of this bunch of Jihadis on 9/11.

Me?  I'm all for them espousing their hate.

And for sending their asses back to whatever shit hole in the Middle East they crawled out of.

A Question

If this Los Angeles Times reporter is correct, 85% of those students entering community college today in California need remedial English and 73% remedial math.

See "California's community colleges staggering during hard times."

If that's the case, that three-fourths of these "students" didn't have an interest in learning basic math and English in the twelve years they sat in classrooms, why do they go to college?

The beer is better?   The drugs?

MSNBC House Racist Issues a Challenge

His name is Touré Neblett. He's black. And he's a regular contributor to MSNBC. Which, combined, tell you all you need to know about the reason for his being there.

So this Touré character has issued a challenge to all Americans:

MSNBC's Toure Argues Put 2008 Aside; Only Re-electing Obama in 2012 Will Prove America Isn't Racist

So it's up to us to decide. Do we want to be called racist by voting for (actual) change? Or do we want four more years of the last four years?

Speaking only for myself, I'm prepared to shoulder that cross and bear the burden of being called a prejudiced white boy.

For the 4,237,232nd time.

If it means this country is saved from Obama ruin.

Sarah Palin Was Right About 'Death Panels'

Not to anyone's surprise, I'm guessing:

[Former Obama 'Czar'] Steven Rattner: 'We Need Death Panels'; Will PolitiFact Reverse 'Lie of the Year' Tag on Palin?

If you think about it, Obama Death Panels are the only way a government-run health care program - considering the population's age and overall demographics - can control costs.  It has to deny service to someone.  If the government controlling costs is the only order of the day.   And who better to deny service to than America's old people who are deemed non-life supporting anyway.

Remember that now-infamous TV ad that had Paul Ryan pushing granny over a cliff?

Well, that wasn't Paul Ryan.

That's Saint Barry.

St. Barry The Magnificent is going to be snuffing old people because his plan can't support them.

It's not as if you weren't warned that this was where we were headed.

- - -

I and many other smart people looked at Obama's proposal early on - with its promise to (a) improve the quality of health care, (b) expand coverage to millions of Americans free of charge, and (c) make it all less expensive, and determined that Obama was either (a) lying through his teeth or (b) woefully ignorant.  The jury is still out as to which it is.  But there is no (c).

And Health Care Won't Be Cheaper Either

Especially considering the shifting of costs from the direct to the indirect - doctor bills to new taxes.  This chart gives us a window unto our ObamaCare future:

The Heritage Foundation provides the disturbing details in "Obamacare’s Barrage of Tax Hikes Coming in 2013."

It boils down to this: Half a trillion dollars over the next ten years is going to be sucked out of the economy to pay for Obama's health care monster.

And even that won't be enough to cover the exploding costs.

Massive new taxes.  Killing off old people.  All in the name of "universal health care."

How did we get to this point?  And what did we do to deserve it?

This Is Interesting

For those who wonder how Israel is going to be able to pull off a strike against Iran's nuclear weapons facilities - considering the distance and fly time between the two countries - this from Reuters could make all the difference:

Insight: Azerbaijan eyes aiding Israel against Iran

Of course, the question then becomes: How does Israel get its bombers from Point A to Point B to blow the livin' crap out of Point C.  Click on this image to enlarge it:

When they get that nailed down, watch for the Israelis to do that which the entire western world - including Mr. I-Killed-Bin-Ladin - is too cowardly to do - stop the madmen from going nuclear.

It's a matter of WHEN, not IF.

From The Land Where Open-mindedness Reigns

Or not:

Governor Jerry Brown has signed legislation that makes California the first state to ban a controversial form of psychotherapy that's aimed at making gay teenagers straight.

Might it work?

They don't want to find out.

Thus, it gets banned.

As I've made clear over the years, these people are no more open-minded than the rest of us.  They're just different-minded.

Another concept they'd rather not have to think about.

Uh, You Want To Think That Through?

An Obama flack was asked yesterday on one of the morning talk shows to name one accomplishment that Barack Obama can tout in his last four years in office.  He mentioned Osama bin Ladin, of course, and then went on to talk glowingly about how the stock market has gone up 75% since 2009 and many investors had seen their wealth grow significantly since that time.

My thought when I heard that?

So the hated rich have done well under Obama.

His one shining accomplishment.

Do these guys really want to push that line?

As far as that Osama bin Ladin thingie goes, this is worth noting as well:

Ambassador Chris Stevens Is Dead; Al-Qaeda Is Alive

Any other brilliant ideas?
